What this data shows is that protecting already vaccinated people from infection is a really bad idea.https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1468347730133192708 …

You guys seem to think getting infected some heroic accomplishment. I guess you live a life with so little risk or accomplishment that you’ve lost all sense of what’s actually heroic? Vaccines aren’t that scary! Even most children manage it without crying.

You keep bringing this conversation back to Covid vaccines, but I don’t think the main point here is about boosters. It’s about completely moving on from Covid restrictions.

Yeah, I found this ratio pretty attention-grabbing too, Zeynep.

Ah yes, it's the needles they are afraid of, not what's in them!

If you actually want to help persuade, listen to their fears and find evidence to counter them. Saying "safe and effective" 1000 times doesn't cut it!Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

You missed the key point where you will be infected (because covid uses animal reservoirs, it will never go away), and with current data, likely spread the virus, just as if you were unvaccinated.

Not great, but not as catastrophic as it could have been. Tested with 2x Pfizer, and shows, yeah, it'll cause a lot of breakthroughs. Those with vaccine *and* infection appeared much more protected: suggests boosters will work well.
