Not sure I follow. "Claiming that a particular argument ... has been used inappropriately... therefore all attempts to raise this argument ... are inappropriate." From one particular to a general statement - seems like a faulty generalisation to me.

I think a relevant example is arguments like car accidents cost about as many life years as covid. Or for small children flu is more deadly than covid. These things while true are now associated with people who advocate bad policies so now are forever tarnished.
