I saw somebody who had collapsed, about .2 miles from the marathon finish! Within sight! Man. He only had two cops around him, nobody medical, and it looked like he had hit the wall—not a heart attack or an injury. I really hope he got a sports drink or gel and walked to the end!

That’s absolutely the worst! I used to run half and full marathons in Charlotte, NC and the last mile or so was always uphill! Hated it but the end was always exhilarating and tiring (brain Vs body)

Yes it’s literally up a hill to the finish line! I remember it well but I was cruising along so well that I didn’t care the year I ran it. You just stare at the time clock and I knew I’d PR!
