(Since I’m waving magic scheduling wands: Moderna meeting postponed, as the company announces they’re only sending first doses to poorer countries—especially those potentially facing a winter wave—and boosters for their already stellar vaccine will have to wait until after that).

I’m guessing this has to do with the order in which they received this data for review (?)

Indeed, parents with kids under 12 are under intense strain, and EUA could not come soon enough!

Won’t vaccinating kids do more to reduce transmission which would indirectly help people who would be eligible for boosters?

Their post sounded like they didn't have the data yet to review for the kids?

why start with kids? agree on heterologous boost going first but (while i understand why everyone wants to get their kids vaccinated) i thought the case for youth vaccination was the least urgent

Children are still immunologically naïve to COVID as they are 0% vaxxed. A booster for people who already have 80% or higher immunity from the original course of vaccines would seem less urgent. Kids vaccines will reduce kids bringing it home to parents/grandparents.
