You're missing the point. Almost all these deaths happened over about a month and a half. The attack rate and the death toll appears to be staggering. (Younger population, little/no nursing homes, much less sealed buildings: should have been way lower).
Nobody would disagree that the death toll is staggering, but the rate, per population, is lower than many other countries. Half of these deaths happened before May, when India first hit the headlines. And the rate 'should' have been lower in lots of places, including the UK.pic.twitter.com/qOsEOGLjlK
