Do people know that the 1890 pandemic was likely caused by another coronavirus, OC43 (that was then novel?) Nowadays, no longer novel, it is one of the causes of the common cold. We're obviously not living in the OC43 pandemic since, and we won't live in a COVID pandemic forever.

Regarding ADE, which I agreeis crankery to claim it has been documented. My question is how can we be certain it is not a long term risk after immunity wanes and/or virus evolution? (I'm ignorant on ADE, except Wikipedia claims was ruled out in the first few months of research).

I work on antennas. The field of antennas has always had cranks. They attract attention and funding for nonsensical ideas. Some leading experts in the field devote a portion of their time to debunking the cranks. It is a public service, and the rest of us are grateful for it.

AJL is not claiming that there is ADE. His concerns about the possible super-antigen and adaptive immune dysregulation are plausible, supported by research, but not confirmed. Grounds for disagreement, not dismissal. U either have to do the reading, or trust someone else's word.

Agreed. He may be some sort of
#doomer to some but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a smoking gun. The SAg might be there, the decerebration might be there, cov2 might lay dormant, etc - i’d rather keep discussing the possibility of all this rather than downplaying this virus - Show replies

Are we thinking about the same scientist here? Because “bounds of science” is an apt description of the content he posts. I haven’t seen another immunologist on this platform as familiar with the covid immunology literature as he is.

What do you call misrepresenting someone's position? Anthony has repeatedly said he does NOT think there is evidence of ADE

You've done great work during the pandemic and I admire it. And perhaps
@fitterhappierAJ is wrong. But it would be much more persuasive if this thread attacking him could offer something other than ad hominem - Show replies
