The mayor of San Fransisco at a jazz club last Thursday. The maskless partying became news because a reporter was there. Yes there is a mask mandate in SF. The issue isn’t what I think is fine. It’s that rules work if they’re workable and seen as fair.pic.twitter.com/keFyl2YbKN

*"San Francisco" — for some reason I can RT videos only from the phone and my typo defenses are even weaker on the phone.

I'm in the bay area and I hadn't heard about it yet. And I can see why people would be pissed, it is up there with Newsom's French Laundry dinner...
-
Nicholas we just had a recall election and nobody cared about the French Laundry except for republicans who already hated Newsom

Just an incredible unforced error.

I’m so curious why the US can’t manage a testing requirement like Germany. We can have nice things!

That doesn't logically follow. SF is doing great on covid. Things being difficult in the world preceded a video of a jazz club in SF. This is nothing but post-hoc rationalizing hatred of libs, because people like bashing SF.
-
Huh? Listen, I have voted Dem all my life, but defending this is silly. If the mayor of a town is unable to follow the rules because she needs to “vibe” at a club then drop the mandate. Don’t defend it just because she is a Democrat, it does not make any sense.

This is the first I’ve seen it, not being covered by all the left-leaning people I follow. I just got done with a 12 hour hospital shift wearing a mask the whole time, so, no sympathy for her needing to “vibe”. Mask mandates protect those who can’t get vaccinated.

I can’t get behind masking and/or mandates because I don’t think masks work to decrease transmission except in some very limited circumstances. And clearly the Mayor doesn’t think they work either.

They help with sneezing and coughing at least. And people with glasses were getting infected way less at the beginning bc their glasses were protecting their eyes from small drops of spit.
