Disagree. We should be honest. IT IS A ZERO-SUM GAME. Vaccine manufacturers are not able to meet demand. Production is already maxed out. If we hoard or have vaccines expire rather than share, that doesn't make it a non zero-sum game, it just makes us morally bankrupt.https://twitter.com/jburnmurdoch/status/1438103141216575490 …

We should, of course, do everything to make sure doses are used, rather than expiring, especially since the lack of supply has left more than half the world’s population, especially the ones in poorer countries, without any vaccine protection. Looks like into 2022 at this rate.

Again I’m on the fence about giving boosters to healthy adults/kids. But did you assume ALL the individuals who get these 200m doses (100m individuals essentially) would be infected with Covid to reach your saving 2m people? (1/2)

i'm assuming we have 6 months tops before everyone alive&immunocompetent in the world (w/isolated handfuls of exceptions at best) seroconverts, our only choice is via infection or vaccination. if your argument is "not everyone will be exposed", no, everyone will be exposed.

And how can you be sure these 200m doses wouldn’t reach the arms of the young healthy non-HCW relatives of the corrupt politicians first in these countries?

Considering half of the adult population in this country is obese, the percentage of adults in the US who are neither old nor having some pre-existing condition(s) is actually pretty small.
