Is there a good article explaining why antibiotic resistance and "vaccine resistance" are not the same— and in fact not that comparable because the mechanisms are different. Equating the two is really really misleading, and yet I see it everyday.

Yep. We need more long-form articles that address, in detail, the issues raised. There are nice papers (I read them!) but what people need is articles (not threads!) that take on *current* misconceptions, provide explanations *in detail* with sources.https://twitter.com/hyperpape/status/1436335944374923265 …

Kennedy and Read published a more complete follow up to their 2017 study in 2018 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6304978/ … that i’ve found pretty enlightening.pic.twitter.com/hIxWxhm6Dw

good article, but first point clearly valid, second one possibly not valid. There is less of an argument for multiplicity of target sites given how narrowly mRNA vaccines are targeting the immunity.

maybe instead of complaining, you should aggregate the wisdom of the replies and incorporate them into an article... I'm just sayin'...

as the one thing you want to compare to the other simply does not exist it seems unlikely there is such a thing as a scientific paper about it when politicians make up a term this does not mean what people imagine this could be automaticaly materializes in reality and science

Only skimmed it, but this seems quite good: Kennedy DA, Read AF. Why does drug resistance readily evolve but vaccine resistance does not?. Proc Biol Sci. 2017;284(1851):20162562. doi:10.1098/rspb.2016.2562https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5378080/ …

Derek Lowe published just today:https://www.science.org/content/blog-post/vaccines-will-not-produce-worse-variants …

Slightly technical for a general audience but I think a very good and timely blog post (as always!)
