@zeynep I'm confused about this news about Mu. So Delta is massive case spikes, we all restrict activity ... does that mean Mu is again, and then Theta or whatever? Is there really no way out of this?
I don't think there's any reason to think so—at least yet. We've had many variants, and so far, only two (alpha and delta) have caused us substantial issues. As we increase vaccinations and sadly, the infected, new variants are also facing a much higher bar.

We entered the Delta wave, unfortunately, with a large number of unvaccinated here and globally. Whatever we encounter next will not be the same environment.

Thank you. The "vaccines are useless against Mu" framing in the NYT recently is concerning. Like we have to keep starting over. Confusing for future plans.
