Is there a hypothesis about why the bigger effect in the elderly population? More time indoors? Compliance?

I might posit fewer social contacts and therefore less exposure risk - the oldest and youngest are more often the endpoint rather than the beginning of infection chains Also based on symptomatic testing, so perhaps more infections missed in younger age groups
