Two-dose protection against severe illness in Israel for seniors was already very good, Israel's anxieties notwithstanding. There's no way you can get a 4x-5x improvement from where it was. I'm also confused by why this shot only needs a few days to take effect, vs. 2 weeks.

With memory cells in place, antibody production ramps up very rapidly. But generally speaking I agree. It’s way too soon to make a declaration about efficacy, and the only room for significant improvement is against infection.

Immediate protection is a sure sign the data are heavily confounded!

Surely donating the surplus developed countries have to poorer countries is a better strategy to contain the crisis. Not even from point of view of solidarity/kindness. Just a sane management strategy of a global pandemic.
