We’re in strong agreement on the weirdness of non-senior immunocompetent boosters. I haven’t seen any good cost-benefit case for them. Above I’m mostly reacting to the inference that rather than focus on vaccines we should just close all indoor restaurants indefinitely.
Yeah, that's neither here or there. I couldn't make sense of that part.
The vaccinated have done what was asked of them. But there's been a hiccup. Management was late to even recognizing the hiccup, and tragically the virus isn't a moral agent doling out perfect grades to the well-behaved. But the management would like to let you know they're on it.
I know it's essentially an orphan cohort here in the US, but the almost total lack of info for J&J recipients is troubling. I suppose if they lack data for boosters vis mRNA vax then the problem is more acute for J&J?
J&J folks are absolutely justified in seeking a booster today. There's actual data on that, compared to some sort of "for all" booster for immunocompetent people with two mRNA vaccines and no particular concern otherwise.
Let’s not discount the value of theater Already I’m seeing “if vaccines don’t stop infection, why should a <40yo take the vax risk” from the usual suspects That horse is out of the barn; perhaps this’ll return it?
I’ve been wondering about the J&J recipients too (being one of them) as I rarely hear any mention of them in vaccine efficacy / booster news coverage. Should we be worried? Should we be getting one of the other vaccines too?
