Nursing homes house a vulnerable population even when vaccinated—the immune system is less robust as we age, and many people in these facilities have other conditions. Higher standards must make robust difference. We're observing the limitations of vaccine efficacy & effectiveness, and a herd immunity strategy that allows unmitigated community transmission. The root cause of the pandemic isn't low vaccination rates, but community transmission.
