They cleared the library books to avoid “spreading germs” but are telling people to check out the bars and nightlife instead ON A CRUISE SHIP.

Looks, this isn't "anti-science" to say this. Science is a miracle of an enterprise, really. It makes discoveries and understands the world in a way we almost shouldn't be able to considering how we work as humans. OTOH, humans and their institutions operate with human dynamics.
Fine. But I have a hunch they may have other opportunities for norovirus spread on a cruse ship. (And yes, that’s a very real problem for them).

Have you seen the stories about getting the WHO to acknowledge that aerosols were possible. It's frustrating but also fascinating to see how a small piece of assumed knowledge can get lodged in place and really break things
Airlines were the same, until a few smart/aerosol transmission savvy airline executives figured out--OMG, our "existing" plane Exhaustive Ventilation & HEPA filtration Systems provide fabulous ACHs--10 maybe 20!!!!!! We can start talking this up!!
Cruise ships, schools, restaurants, bars, all have vested interest in not understanding. Oh, and governmental agencies (hey there, WHO, CDC!).
Yup! We want businesses open SO we want schools open as daycares SO let's go mask-optional, unvaccinated kids, some teachers unvaccinated, no ventilation, no filtration, & sit inside (taking off masks to eat) for 6 hours a day. Oh and no testing so we won't see outbreaks!
It goes past stupidity and into the territory of criminal negligence. Not only fighting tooth and nail against admitting it was airborne, but refusing to update rules and messaging even after they were convinced. We’d prosecute an engineer who did the same thing with a bridge.
