UK is the ghost of Christmas future. They’re beating us on vaccines and still having an increase in hospitalizations.

The key is the denominator. A national denominator makes no sense given the disparities in vaccination nationwide. Cases must be seriously rising in low-vax areas. What do hospitalizations look like?

Good thing the federal government is positioning to wait and see and definitely not trying to irreversibly end all public health measures https://apnews.com/article/government-and-politics-joe-biden-lifestyle-coronavirus-pandemic-health-f97e0316c51d2d8362a17d149daedb14 …pic.twitter.com/429rInwwOE

The numbers here include lots of random data dumps and are still heavily impacted by holiday trends. Cases dropped extra fast due to the holiday, now there's a slight plateau, they'll start dropping again. Other data sources already show the renewed decline happening.

Writing from the UK, if say you need to wake up about the delta variant. It's a total game changer. Cases are declining in the US now because Alpha variant is declining. Once Delta takes over, different story
