If you’re watching the UK data, please note the below. Deaths among the vaccinated are very rare, and as the thread makes clear, even some of those were people already hospitalized, testing positive perhaps incidentally. Some, especially elderly or very ill, succumb to illness.https://twitter.com/kallmemeg/status/1403353574277582849 …

Which population? Do you have the age stratification data? I haven’t seen it.

Elderly may need boosters. This will require a rethink of our "all adults by end Aug" target if they start to feature more heavily than govt "comfortable with" in these early mortality figures. If we reduced transmission by retreating to step 2 in UK many more lives saved.

We actually don't reliably know how much less death will be seen among the elderly. This is "The Real Test." Let's not ignore the marked discrepancy between AZ vaccine effectiveness observed in South Africa vs. observed in the UK. It matters that AZ is a British multinational.

PHE will report the data. But you must be naive to believe that corporate/political pressure won't weigh on that data reporting. Everyone should get vaccinated with whatever is available. But, not all vaccines are equally effective. A fully impartial jury would be desirable
