WIV was built in the 1950s as a microbiology lab, likely because it is a convenient location in a major city, as it is at the crossroads of northern and southern China. As such it's easy to get to many field sites, including those in southern China.

Yeah, of course. That makes sense. Central location, big city. I'm specifically trying to see a source for the claim that location selection was, as she said, due to "where a lot of zoonotic disease crossovers were happening."
