It’s not a safe assumption at all. The survey went out in late April and asked about behavior over the past month. To be fully vaccinated by April 1, one would have needed to be eligible in February. I and many of my colleagues under age 65 were not eligible until April.https://twitter.com/NateSilver538/status/1392446275375833089 …

Assuming nearly all are vaccinated by this point—which I assume is a fairly safe assumption (the survey is limited to the US)—my takeaway is that epidemiologists are extremely risk-averse, much more so than public health guidelines say they need to be. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/12/upshot/epidemiologists-survey-virus-hugs-haircuts.html … pic.twitter.com/YNgggaf0P6

More evidence for huge selection bias in that survey. Only 20% of the respondents said it was fine for the vaccinated to socialize indoors if the numbers are large. That doesn't seem right for April/May responses (maybe December/January when one could quibble about equipoise).pic.twitter.com/Kz2L6Nm6pe

The survey found though that 80% of participants were fully vaccinated (and most others were partly vaccinated) so Carl's point didn't hold up well tbh.https://twitter.com/NateSilver538/status/1392575571012595714?s=19 …

Data on vaccination rates among the panel. About 80% fully vaccinated, many others partly vaccinated, although half had unvaccinated members in their household. https://twitter.com/sangerkatz/status/1392517224217382915?s=20 …
