How many other things have we been instructed to do because of ‘mechanical plausibility’ in stopping spread but in fact made things worse or simply did nothing?
Sanitizing, deep cleaning, plexi, closed playgrounds beaches and parks... what else? Schools?

That list of potential harms is not valid? It all looks valid and logical. The list is from the WHO’s Mask Use Guide. This particular list is from June 2006. Same doc that includes the attached clip. https://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/handle/10665/332293/WHO-2019-nCov-IPC_Masks-2020.4-eng.pdf …pic.twitter.com/qq4u1KDhyg

"Not at all valid"? Even a cursory review of the paltry lit backs up harm assertions (plus WHO citations) derm: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/dth.14848 … comm for the deaf: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7166300/ … headaches and O2: https://www.mdpi.com/1660-4601/18/5/2363 … waste mgmt https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2666016420300505 … I can keep going...

Not at all valid because it would mean Zeynep was wrong about masks, which is an unacceptable outcome, even if it’s accurate
