This is how progress is made:
A new study about to start in UK.
Can rapid tests each morning following contact w a #COVID19 positive individual be used instead of a 14 day quarantine.
I’ve been pushing for this type of study/policy for a year.

Yeah.... :/ At least we can still learn lessons that the rest of the world can put to use. I bet that if a new pandemic started tmrw though, many would start debating from scratch once again. “We don’t know enough to act...” (When in fact we did know so much) Disheartening

I would really like to see flu rapid tests going forward. We don’t have to accept 30k lives lost a year. Quick and cheap flu tests could work well in long term and congregate care settings, as well as at school.

Is it ridiculously optimistic to imagine a
@WHO with teeth emerging from this? Charged with coordinating routine sequencing surveys to buy us time to get testing ramped up while vaccines are being developed? Better data would also help us understand “endemic” disease.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Unfortunately, we should fear that like Talleyrand said of the Bourbons, "They learn nothing, and they forget nothing." At least that first part.
