It’s been more than a year since I wrote my first article on why outdoors is much safer and we should open parks/beaches to help lessen deaths. Not a single known beach cluster. Outdoor transmission is very low outside of prolonged close contact—kinda how he harasses strangers.https://twitter.com/DWUhlfelderLaw/status/1388464992379445248 …

With respect, I'm not sure the bars are "auxiliary" to beach attendance.
-
Many beaches are in large cities where people live. If you want to advocate for closing bars, by all means. Go ahead. Harassing strangers engaging in the safest possible recreation in a pandemic because of assumed and not even mentioned auxiliary activity is harmful to health.

How would you know if there was? Who is doing that kind of extensive contact tracing...and I’m not saying you’re wrong... I’m saying how do you know?
-
I recall a press conference in Orange County with FL Dept of Health, granted no beaches, when asked about cases from theme parks, said none, but admitted no contact tracing because it was just too hard. Do they even really WANT to trace? We won't know infection sources in FL.

prob is, the same kids that crammed themselves together on the beach, also crammed themselves into bars, restaurants, hotel rooms, & house parties. I'd assume the "beach-cramming only" subset is fairly low. Again, you are 100% right that general beaching, w space, is fine

https://youtu.be/Xqxvp0pCKh4 This happened in a local beach here in Brazil. 2 weeks later we had an insane cases and deaths spike I understand that this is an extreme case, and not regular beach activity. But people still though outdoor = safe

Didn't work from home, walked in central London since the start of covid as a pandemic. Had/have to deal with the selfish, entitled, and at times aggressive, unwilling to social distance on pavements. Now it's the ones personally offended by my mask wearing outdoors. Her overly broad opinion also dismisses the other activities associated with beach crowds: beach bars and restaurants. Especially applicable to FL.
