11. One of the central characteristics of ACIP meetings is that they are public. The committee doesn't just crunch data & debate decisions, it shows its work. Some of the presentations are about showing how the investigation has been conducted.

It's wonderful. My husband doesn't listen to the meetings, and assumes "the fix is in" beforehand. I have to always tell him there is almost always real (and respectful) discussion, disagreement, and mind-changing. (Some types of expertise missing though...)
