It's pure gaslighting at this point to say we don't know whether vaccinated people spread the virus. Tons of studies—including from the CDC!!!—show that vaccines massively reduce (though probably not entirely eliminate) transmission.https://twitter.com/HealthInsider/status/1380606469004009478 …

Unless I missed something, while it’s true that lots of studies show a strong effect on reducing asymptomatic transmission, thus creating a lower bound for transmission, there’s much weaker evidence demonstrating that vaccinated infected people transmit less virus

I'm not sure if some of this isn't the outlet framing? Did he really say " until we know for sure that vaccinated people don't spread the virus"? Like at all? That bar seems strikingly high? Also maybe we should look at CDC guidelines rather than one person who also says this:pic.twitter.com/qgaiOgZ5zK

I'd like a little more official and consistent communication, and a little less freelancing by, however prominent, individuals being presented as general advice for everyone tbh.

I agree that we see WAY too much of this open-ended stuff and it really undercuts the official message...

Yeah. He's an 80-year-old person reportedly working 16 hour days and his "what I'm doing right now" shouldn't be interpreted as guidelines for risk-assessment for all vaccinated people, and I'm not even sure what he said, exactly, from that article.

Also not helping. Is it: Fauci won't travel because he's too busy (as he says in the article?) Is it: Fauci advises against travel despite CDC change on that? Is it: Fauci considers himself high-risk, at 80? I dunno, tbh.pic.twitter.com/mIzazdQwxo

Think we fell into a situation where he became literally the only trusted administration voice last year and people feel obliged to continue that. Probably better if the head of NIAID goes back to doing NIAID stuff.

what the heck you're telling me Fauci isn't in charge of everything related to health???

I completely understand how we got here (after last year) but I had been hoping that we'd have a bit more clarity and focus/narrowing of the communication channels to the public by now. I'm still constantly explaining "no, no 5% of vaccinated aren't destined to get sick anyway".

The messaging is awful. Really the only thing he’s changed is gathering with friends ... nothing else. But all that other stuff is what motivates people to get vaxxed. And it’s out of step with how ppl are living.
