That is exactly what I'm thinking about. I benefit a huge amount from substantive push-back on my own motivated reasoning, but social media makes it hard to pick the signal from the noise (because there is also a lot of not-so-useful "feedback" so add volume to one's own biases).

I feel like social media has general accelerant affect, where at best it iterates towards truth far faster than possible without it, but at worst it makes everything horrible.
