Delayed 2nd dose was a good idea-squashed too quickly. Historic crisis demanded less rigidity. Just latest example.
Imagine another 50M with 1-dose right now...

I got my 2nd dose yesterday while tens of thousands in the Chicago area still trying to get their 1st. Got it because husband insisted. I was going to wait-for all we know, delayed 2nd dose may work much better.

Supply looks higher but there's reporting time lag (and early on there was a bit of logistics bottleneck but that was resolved pretty quickly—personal experience plus watching numbers) and in lots of places, the main bottleneck has been, and is, not enough first doses allocated.

So you mean that while it looks like supply is higher, it is only because what looks like an oversupply is simply because those doses are being reserved for the second dose? And so if the policy was changed to prioritize first dose, these doses would have been used up by now

Zeynep. Given there are several vaccines available are there any studies on intermixing of vaccines. For eg you take only one dose of AZ vaccine in India, come to US and take two doses of mRNA or JJ.I guess is it safe to take multiple vaccines, are there any side effects?
