Fuming. I supported a US trial of AstraZeneca so it could undo the *unnecessary* damage to vaccine confidence from their botched initial rollout. Yesterday, I was cautious because, again, press release, no data. Turns out AZ is botching this rollout, too.https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1374060809144438785 …

They could have just waited 48 hours and given us final results with the actual numbers, rather than outdated numbers that they knew were outdated. Why on earth do this? Especially given all the issues with their initial rollout?
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

First they botch the dosing—which we don't really learn because they first do a tweet with fireworks rather than release the data—then they merge trials in ways that make analyses difficult, then they release outdated results when they have newer ones *at hand*. Why are you calm?

The press release did indicate that it was interim results. The Pfizer press release in nov also stated it was interim results.

Interim does not mean outdated.
