Sorry to hear you had some medical issues I hope you'll recover soon I am right handed But I found using the mouse with my left hand (20 yrs now) is without stress (I hd stresses when I use my right hand) This way you can use the numeric section of the keyboard with yr right hand

I'm less injured but still really identify with all this. I try to max use keyboard shortcuts, this is ever less possible. Old word for windows best. You should report on this? "Complex systems, wicked problems". Get software companies to focus more on health, less on glitz?

Try Dragon dictation software. It’s a lot faster than typing and it may help your hand heal more quickly. You can even configure it to substitute for many actions that you would otherwise take through a mouse.

Ahhh, I feel for you, computer related RSI is terrible. I have a customized keyboard which includes a "mouse keys" mode -- it's not perfect, but it helps to have it in my toolbox when my hand hurts.https://keymap.click/?keyId=r-f-1-3
