Also, it’s interesting how it’s places like Japan and South Korea and Hong Kong etc., whose scientists knew from day one that airborne transmission was a key route—disregarding global official guidance essentially—that managed to beat back outbreaks to get back to near normalcy.

How is it that the epidemiologists from these countries that had the right idea about transmission a year ago didn’t have a voice in the WHO? IIRC WHO recognized aerosols as a *possible* avenue of transmission very late into 2020 (mid-summer?)

The library book quarantining policies are based on this project, which you probably knew. No one else was providing any guidance to libraries & archives.https://www.oclc.org/realm/home.html

Any lay person who read the science and saw what was working in Asia, in Czech Republic etc could see a certain part of science was getting it wrong, that we needed masks, surfaces weren't that important, and yet so much of science resisted. I dont understand why so unadaptable?

I’m also really curious to know how important aerosols are to the spread of other viruses, like the flu. If we improved ventilation systems in workplace, schools, apartments buildings - would this cut down on sickness and death from other viruses too?

Yes, there is a good chance that all of the infrastructure changes we are making now--will help us in the future...also cleaner indoor air w/ lower CO2 will help cognitive issues!
