Yeah, my hope is that masking is way less "weird" to americans than it was in 2019. And it certainly helps put a focus on the general importance of having healthcare for everyone..

How exactly would a response to a deadly flu differ from the response to Covid? What measures would be different?

Young kids are flu petri dishes so closing schools helps stop a flu pandemic. For this disease, the epicenters weren’t schools, they were nursing homes, prisons, work conferences, meat packing plants, weddings. Closing schools was an ineffective tool.
