The Pfizer plant in Michigan is working 3 shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with no break for holidays. Why aren’t vaccination clinics working at the same level of urgency?https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/health/2021/02/07/how-covid-vaccine-made-step-step-journey-pfizer-dose/4371693001/ …

Why do you think vaccination clinics are held back by hours, not supply? I think supply is the key bottleneck in most places. (I don't doubt there are still some locales that could speed up but overall... The overwhelming bottleneck seems like supply).

The continual back and forth--it's not supply, it's distribution! It's distribution, not supply!--isn't helpful. It's both. Vaccination has been running behind production and is now about neck and neck but needs to be ready for more supply which is coming.pic.twitter.com/vaTXbKc6lj

I think at the moment it really is supply though. We will have ramped up supply soon, it looks like so the better question might be are we ready for that?

As more supply comes on, we'll be rolling out distribution to many more locations -- thousands of CVS, Walgreens, Walmart etc stores. That's the mechanism for added distribution capacity, not 3am appointments.

Also to lots more medical practices.

The one concern I share is that it may be that the supply is about to go up drastically, and we may hit another distribution wall. But where I am, we've been supply constrained and vaccinating under capacity for almost a month now.

We're just getting some new data that Pfizer/Moderna may be able to relax some of the cold-chain requirements too. I know this sounds hard to believe but *if* things hold up as scheduled, we may well soon have an excess. J&J should go probably go to poorer countries.

More attention should be paid to why in the hell no one knew more about the Pfizer/Moderna cold chain requirements until now. "Well, looky there! They don't need a deep freeze the whole way after all! Who knew?"

Some new data also seems to suggest that Pfizer might be at least somewhat effective in one dose. Do you think the US might move to using Pfizer in that way to speed up vaccinating?
