The Pfizer plant in Michigan is working 3 shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with no break for holidays. Why aren’t vaccination clinics working at the same level of urgency?https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/health/2021/02/07/how-covid-vaccine-made-step-step-journey-pfizer-dose/4371693001/ …

As more supply comes on, we'll be rolling out distribution to many more locations -- thousands of CVS, Walgreens, Walmart etc stores. That's the mechanism for added distribution capacity, not 3am appointments.

Also to lots more medical practices.

I received an email last week from my health provider clarifying that their clinics do not have enough doses yet to schedule appointments. It supports your hypothesis.

It's supply in some localities, distribution in others. SF for example shut down mass distribution sites for lack of supply, but California as a whole still has ~1.7M unused doses. We have been using them up but it'll take a few more weeks to finish them.

By that time we'll have increased the supply and there seems to be a lot of slack so we can increase doses per day quite quickly. Pharmacies should also help. I think soon enough it will be the hesitancy that is the biggest problem. We'll run out of people to vaccinate.
