I haven’t studied this, so I’m not qualified to comment + it’s not my area of interest other than the medical studies I’ve read show outdoor activity is generally safe b/c highest drivers of transmission are indoors.

But I have been—however—following how maskless churches of 100-3000 are meeting indoors here in WA & CA, weekly, with close contact. Much bigger source without a doubt, since congregants are also doing maskless dinners, weddings, parties indoors in defiance of state law.

Airplanes have aggressive air exchange, vertical air flow & HEPA filters—they sometimes exceed operating rooms standard. Churches can mitigate with outdoors (great) and having people, including the speaker, wear masks but there's a reason there is essentially no airplane spread.

Yes, absolutely. Many many millions of people flying (the denominator) and very little known spread. Read the actual paper you just linked. It is one of the few, very rare examples and... most of the "13 cases" are linked to TRAVELING TOGETHER BEFORE AND AFTER. Read the paper.

You can choose to misinform yourself by not considering the denominator (because risk has to be relative to baseline) and not reading the papers, but letting yourself be panicked by the second-hand reporting. Or not! Have a good day.

I didn't mean it in an unkind manner, more that you have a choice. We *do* know a lot about these things, and reading the papers and paying attention to the denominator is really a good idea. Have a good day!
