I'm doing some mandatory training, and now at part about computers, security and privacy: phishing, encryption, password strength. It's tear-my-hair-out wrong. Also it is almost certainly official policy, so not that kind of wrong. Ignore (like everyone being trained)/cry/both?

I think I accidentally closed the tab! Or, if you believe in such things, my subconscious rage-clicked on the x. I'm gonna wait till tomorrow to log back in to see if it saved my "progress."

There's more: I immediately recognized the email as phishing attack, but was puzzled how it got through the VERY stiff firewalls of that email account. So I investigated further, rather than just deleting it. My organization *entrapped* me into more training.

I’ve reported fake phishing attempts by my comp several times. I get an automated congrats message & nobody cares. I never receive real phishing attempts. I’ve pointed out numerous times they are training me to stop reporting it because nobody cares if I do & it’s always fake.

My company routinely sends messages that I'd have to flag as phishing if I took seriously the training they give me every year.

University sent out a phishing training message that offered no warning signs. Suspicious URLs might be a giveaway, except our antiphishing system rewrites links, so they all look suspicious. I think the intended message is "never follow links that you receive by email, ever."
