I try not to block actual criticism but things I've started pretty much automatically blocking to make Twitter usable: Snitch-tagging; "Oh you're surprised?" reply guys; People who respond to an article *I* wrote with a point made in the article as if I could have no idea.https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1361678304793808897 …

What I mean by the kind of thing I do block—because these people are repeat offenders with no any useful content. I don't mean disagreement, even if testy and contentious. I mean pointing out to me the most basic thing about a field I work and write in.https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1361685049268133888 …

shouldn't this be part of twitter's tool box for more prominent accounts? (beyond manual blocking)

Blocking and mutes are the best, use them frequently!

I occasionally mute. I always block trolls. I use Botsentinel which gives you a good idea if they're trolls. If they rank high enough a take a look at their accounts. I occasionally respond with I'm blocking because they're trolls with a high bot ranking. Satisfying!

I just block anyone who annoys me for any reason, because life is short. And try to remember never to argue about anything on Twitter.

I try not to block people unless it is absolutely necessary but that may say more about my white male privilege than anything else :)

I was just wondering, if I may? How many people have you blocked in total?
