We’ll look back at RECOVERY as one of the big wins during this pandemic. I hope that we can promote more science like this during the next emergency.

As we’re coming to terms with the realization that this virus is not just going to be all gone as soon as we get everyone* vaccinated, I’ve been wanting to know more about treatments. Will we live in a world where infection is rare, and if we get sick, treatments are effective?

*Of course, not everyone will be vaccinated, even in the wealthy countries, and in countries with fewer resources...

The UK did two things absolutely brilliantly:
Trials
Vaccination
In both cases, it was the NHS (one of my greatest loves!) that made it work. When the UK contracted test/trace to private sector, it was a disaster. Vaccination is going great as the NHS is leading it

And would have done/would do even better, if it got the funding it needs and deserved. Wish we could see the light on this in the US & UK.
