I know that this is already happening. Basically, by making the vaccine appointment system what it is (instead of a central website or phone number per state where you entered your info once and then got contacted), we've left a lot of people vulnerable.https://twitter.com/laurapy/status/1358969867874021383 …

Sanity! Imagine that. This plus setting up vaccination clinics in underserved areas plus workplaces prone to outbreaks (warehouses, meat-packing etc) would go a long way. Right now, in many states, it's vaccination roulette and field day for scams.https://twitter.com/TulliusCicero43/status/1359182436341579776 …

How long before scammers start making appointment calls? "Just enter your SS# to get your vaccine ..."

If the pandemic is what it takes to get rid of robocallers - it's still too high a cost but I will consider it a kindness.

Had to filter out text messages due to excessive spam. Because of the how clunky it is, it filtered out messages from city government about COVID updates

Thankfully here in NM registration is centralized through
@NMDOH. There's a single online site, and a phone # for those w/o internet. Then they contact you when it's your turn to make an appt. Once you've had your 1st shot, they automatically set up your appt for the 2nd. - End of conversation

same thing with the "stimulus payment" that was just some random swipe card, sent in a plain envelope, with the name of a government department nobody'd ever heard of. Exactly the same profile as those scams we have told our parents over and over again to throw away...
