Agree, as @ashishkjha & I argued @nytimes vaccine op-ed. Case for prioritizing myriad jobs, racial/ethnic groups, medical conditions, etc come easily. Harder: assessing how much these fine-grained categories create an implementation mess... & harm equity.

A majority (70%+) of Covid cases in Mendocino county are in the Latino population (i.e. farm workers, restaurant workers, grocers, landscapers, contractors...). Many of them lack 2 forms of ID. Guess what's preventing access to vaccines...

@SF_DPH doing this well by removing barriers (walk-in appts) for people in the hardest hit zip codes. One thing we’ve learned tho about removing all barriers is the most advantaged get served first. But by centering the most Disadvantaged we will achieve better outcomes for all. -
Are they really though? When I read the criteria it boggles my mind: must have specific insurance, or no insurance; must be over 65; must live in this zip-code - and the zip-code means must have ID... along with proof of having this certain type of insurance
