I've seen suggestions that the idea younger children might be less susceptible to infection with #COVID19 is a "myth", based on children just not being tested enough
That is untrue!
Whilst it's true children are under tested, this is not where this idea came from!

Every time a study comes out people say “see kids can catch it” as if anyone doubted this. They are clearly less susceptible, the susceptibility goes up with age, and they are extremely unlikely—less than flu—to get any severe consequence compared to adults. That’s where we are.

I've seen a bit too many claims that kids almost never catch it :/

Fair. I've heard it mostly from activists and friends; at least the claim that kids transmit only negligibly seems a pretty widespread folk claim.

My 15yo niece got infected by a 15 yo friend and infected the whole household A nephew got infected by his 5yo who then infected the whole household 6 ppl and my sisters household. I would treat children as adults
#COVID19 wise

In France, the secretary of Education has announced such nonsensical stances on COVID-19. Using old data to prove that children were actually never infected in schools. (which is obv. wrong and as you suggested not the point).

People say this at school board meetings around the country on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Some of those people are school board members.

People do claim they transmit less than adults, and don't drive school transmission - which is problematic- as it's not grounded in evidence. This misinformation is what many of us have been trying to counter with facts.

Do children tend to have the same viral load as adults, or is that hard to test for?
