Wait what? Facebook "Oversight Board" is giving "embargoed" access of its *full* decisions to individual writers? Like a single person? Is that so? No. Not okay. (Not naming the person because it doesn't mean she did something wrong). But, no, no, no. We aren't their PR agents.

I just asked both the Board and Facebook for the facts. BTW, you write for the
@NYTimes. It is our paragon. It accepts embargoes. It also issues them itself. Embargoes are and have been since I entered journalism frequent and even SOP. -
Yeah, access journalism is a broad practice and has been terrible in its consequences when practiced by the powerful in a targeted way. Hence my alarm in seeing the Oversight board step into that space. It requires immediate and strong resistance.
