I had a conversation with @cwarzel on how people can take care of respirators like N95s, the online scams, how to up one's mask game―respirators, mask braces, layers, better fit—and why this isn't one-size-fits-all. Also! Looking forward to CDC guidelines!https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/29/opinion/coronavirus-masks.html …

What about surgical masks without braces? This is what a lot of people use, should we be worried if it's only about a grocery store visit? How about passing people on the sidewalk? Has anyone quantified the difference?

Heard on the radio here in Los Angeles that the plan to open schools requires students and teachers to triple mask and keep distance. Triple mask. I wish there was more clear and consistent guidance on this topic.

Re mask sourcing, I've found PC parts vendors (like Newegg or Microcenter) have been reliable sources for masks, and they have a bit of experience with supply chain verification/anti counterfeiting.
