The most frustrating aspect of past year has been how hard scientists from China tried to warn us—once their government stopped silencing them. They published so much, so fast after Jan 20th, with almost everything we needed to know to get ready.https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1222662053329924098 …

Thank you for your early efforts to spread the word. Some of us were listening, and paying attention, even if the current state of the world doesn’t seem to much reflect that these days.

Have you watched this press conference by the PRC National Health Commission? Extraordinary, very explicit warning to the world on Jan 25th and I never saw coverage of it:https://twitter.com/ethanoconnor/status/1221639832113278976?s=21 …

From the same press conference: “The control and prevention of the new coronavirus is currently the most important task for the country.”

Your words are part of what spurred me and my colleague
@Adham_Sameer_B to start HACR. "With an urgent enormous effort, this could be contained. There is no way to get through this without providing resources for the whole world. It's 2020. One planet."Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I remember my heart sinking when human to human transmission was confirmed outside of China, meaning a global pandemic was inevitable. I wish our leaders listened to you and others and prepared properly! Even to this day the right lessons aren’t being learned.

I remember cases in Italy. Then the first detection in Vienna: A guy who has been in Hospital for weeks. That's when I knew: It is already here & circulating.
