Also - not enough notification to people to NOT take Advil, etc... right before the shot. I keep reading about diminished immunity. Correct?

Was about to make this point. The study is in mice, but it still suggests taking NSAIDs after vaccination (or during infection) may impair immunity.

the CDC patient info sheet they hand out mentions ibuprofen and acetaminophen, but no preference listed. I've read a few things that say don't pre-medicate before injection. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/pdfs/321466-A_FS_What_Expect_COVID-19_Vax_Final_12.13.20.pdf …

I object in the strongest possible terms to Dr. Colleen Kelley's statement that it's "PERFECTLY FINE" to take NSAIDS after the COVID vax. An overconfident overstatement in the absence of definitive data. Terrible terrible risk comm. It MAY be fine, but we DO NOT KNOW YET.

That's a great question. The only parallel that comes to mind from me is sports science/medicine. Generally, NSAIDs are not great because they shut down inflammation, and you actually want inflammation (at least for most injuries), so long as it's not out of control...
-
...so is part of the vaccine's efficacy the inflammatory response it triggers? If so, probably best to not interfere with it?
