Something to worry about (trial showing drop in efficacy) Waiting for full paper. (Small sample, don't know about severe disease, which is key). Today we also learned Pfizer looks to be effective against that variant. We're gonna need boosters. (Novavax already working on one).https://twitter.com/JBDavis2/status/1354942205291585546 …

More. There's a double/triple reality here. We have excellent vaccines and having more is great. Variants are emerging and we'll eventually have to do boosters, and the more we use this year to vaccinate as many people as possible, the better the future.https://twitter.com/nataliexdean/status/1354943792990859267 …

Hard to know because there were only 2 severe covid events in the entire program (2/9200 pooled placebo)!

But it’s likely that the message that’ll be pushed by general media (and heard loud and clear by teachers unions etc) is: “The vaccines don’t work against the new strains!”

Low efficacy rate, huh? The influenza vaccine, in a good year, might reach 65%.
