Stop repeating the trope that Germany's censorship regime has somehow eradicated Nazis and other hateful people. I've been spit on and attacked multiple times this past year; my friends of color have experienced far worse. Censorship is just a feel-good answer.

I think one can argue downsides of German laws or their applicability elsewhere, but I find the idea that they did not have a strong effect to be weak. (I used to argue with my German friends on why their laws were too strong and they would point out a lot of what didn't happen).

That’s not what I said though. “Had a strong effect” is not the same as “solution” as I’m sure you’d agree.
