Shop towels are fine, as long as they're not recycled (since recycled ones can have lead and stuff in them). 3 layers might be too many IIRC - make sure it's breathable

Unlike many N95 masks, shop towels don't rely on electrostatic charge for their efficacy, so re-use isn't a problem.
