This overly bureaucratic prioritization, and the outrage over a few undeserving people cutting ahead (which I don't support but the harm is much less than all this) will likely do more damage to those in high-risk categories than the actual cutting in line. Roll it the @#!! out.https://twitter.com/polly/status/1348464494108954626 …

Give appointments in blocks and have a first-come-first-serve line, too, and when they show up, we get name and phone number anyway and if you are prioritizing by age, look at their ID or or have them sign a single sentence affirming age or priority category, and vaccinate them!

Have you looked at how CT doing? It sounds like doing a better job than most at balancing competing social benefits

I had seen some stuff a few days ago but will check it out! Looks to me like speeding things out would be most beneficial from all aspects--whatever mobilization is necessary to do it, we should. Reportedly, 40 million unadministered vaccines!

I don’t see clear pattern in states that have dispensed relatively more of their doses except maybe older populations (WV, ND, SD, NB, VT?). Maybe nursing home popn (early target) just a bigger proportion of their overall popns but all running into same bottlenecks in community?

Huh! I was wrong about age distribution of Nebraska and the Dakotas. Compared to my theory, they are overperforming. Would be good to know more about their strategies. FL appears to be decidedly underperforming given age distribution.

Yeah. It would be excellent to find a few places that have gotten this right, and push to learn from their example.

A few people are collecting this information from various states. FL seems to be in the lead.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xAQOZO7oyu6TPtE6SufKAuSDaF_EFzp7WeL9GPx0Zi8/edit?usp=drivesdk …
