When facing exponential threats, anything done early is worth so so much more. The world lost January to the cover-up. (Don’t @ me with our own failings. I’ve been writing about them for a year. It doesn’t erase the damage from the initial cover-up. Let’s have multiple thoughts.)

The WHO is pretty neutered. I suspect they had to cowtow to the Chinese in the hopes of getting genetic and other evidence to try and slow the spread but ultimately that plan was a ~not great.
