Framing it as "don't provide X" instead of "we aren't provided with X" changes the agency. There are people who view public health experts, doctors etc as part of the big government entity who make all these choices, instead of who are dealing with the fallout like everyone else-

You are right that doctors deal with individuals and that's what Dr. Kass is and all she can do. I assume you don't intend this to come off as if she/her peers are failing to mount a societal response but that is the framing of the thread as written, IMHO
