This thread ends with "be smarter" but every stage is societal, not individual and the rapid test is the *best* part, not the problem. The family goes to work unmasked, has large "bubble", employs older nanny with no primary care doctor & own kids. Problem isn't the living room.https://twitter.com/darakass/status/1343754550562459648 …

Yes the son and the rapid test are not at all central to what's going on. If anything, that seems to be the only stage there was any sensible attempt at employing a public health measure. (Though older brother not alerting them to symptoms immediately...)https://twitter.com/a_haema/status/1344675936445362178 …

That's exactly right. Plus, that family has no "bubble" whatsoever. The word appears to have lost its meaning. Family employs nanny, plus mom has six co-workers who work together unmasked plus who knows what else... A real bubble is very hard to sustain. https://twitter.com/Valentine721/status/1344674128649998336 …

One issue at least in California is that the messaging has moved hard to both abstinence only and open ended time wise. These networks can be locked down but only for fixed short periods of time.

That person’s injection of race into the story suggests to me that it isn’t well meaning and is published with ulterior motives having little to do with disease mitigation.

Outdoors, 6 feet apart, face coverings. I haven't hugged my adult son since March. Will do so when we are both vaccinated.

This framing is as if it's Dr. Kass who's refusing to provide this help and then criticizing the failure. This is really harmful and dishonest.
-
What, no? It's clearly about the government/public health response. How is one doctor supposed to do that anyway? She's just providing an example.

There’s no mention as to whether the Nanny was masked at work in the home. If family insists she worked unmasked she should have full financial support to stay home. If Nanny insists on working unmasked, family should insist she seek alternative employment.
-
Although this also raises questions on whether the kids wore masks as well.

Also don't provide quarantine facilities so the nanny decides to quarantine (aka incubate) with a known positive when she was not known to be infected yet.
